As news broke that Beyoncé would be dropping out of Clint Eastwood's remake of A Star is Born, the media wondered if the split had something to do with the two celebrities' very public political personas.

According to Variety, Knowles officially dropped out of the project where she would be taking on the role played previously by Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland because of scheduling reasons. In a statement to E! the singer said: "For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together."

But let's just take a look at what Knowles and Eastwood have done in recent months. Knowles and her husband Jay-Z hosted a fundraiser for Obama. She appeared in an Obama campaign video talking about her daughter. Meanwhile, Clint Eastwood talked to a chair at the Republican National Convention.

Thus, this has become a poltical story. Emily Heil at The Washington Post wrote: "We’re reading political motives into the news that Obama super-supporter Beyonce has dropped out of a film that was to be directed by Clint 'Empty Chair' Eastwood." One of Sabrina Rojas Weiss' five guesses as to why Beyoncé pulled out at VH1 was "Obama pal Bey didn’t feel comfortable working with Romney supporter Clint. Plus his RNC chair performance made her worry about his sanity." E! Online's Natalie Finn took the we know what everyone's thinking approach in her story by writing: "Not that anyone's blaming the great chair talk of 2012 for Beyonce's exit or anything."

So, if Eastwood's looking for someone with similar political views, perhaps Stacey Dash is available?
