Welcome to the Smart Set. Every morning we bring you the gossip coverage, filtered. Today: Katie Couric is of two minds when it comes to Snooki, there are conflicting reports about whether Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are moving in together, and Lil Wayne was denied access to last night Spurs/Thunder playoff game because he was ticketless.
Katie Couric was up on her high horse when it came to Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi earlier this week, calling the wee mid-Atlantic temptress "cute and everything," but adding it's "funny people find her interesting" and that she'd much rather have Amanda Knox or Kate Middleton as the first guests on her show. Which is funny, according to Camp Snooki, because Couric was "practically stalking her" after the two met at ABC, asking Snooki to pose for a picture and to follow her (Couric) on Twitter. Zhang Ziyi -- from Memoirs of a Geisha, Rush Hour 2, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon -- is very upset various news outlets -- including Hong Kong's The Apple Daily -- for reporting that scandal tainted Chinese politico Bo Xilai and that the actress "pocketed $100 million from liaisons with multiple high-ranking, deep-pocketed government officials over the past 10 years." In a statement to E! Online, her rep says the actress is going to consider filing a lawsuit for defamation. [E! Online]
Conflicting reports as to whether Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are maybe already pretending to move in together. TMZ says yes, E says no. Life & Style also says yes, so we'll give the 'yeas' the benefit of the doubt. [E! Online]
The Oklahoma Thunder will not comp Lil Wayne with free playoff tickets, team spokesman Dan Mahoney said. Weezy and friends showed in Oklahoma City yesterday to attend Game 2 of the Thunder/Spurs series, with the proviso that they all be seated in the front row. The Thunder didn't have any front row seats, they didn't have any seats at all, so Lil Wayne went on Twitter to voice his enthusiasm for the Spurs. Nice guy. [AP]
Brooke Mueller -- Charlie Sheen's most recent ex-wife -- is "back in rehab." Sad. [TMZ]
