In your heart-warming, compassionate news of the day-- Jay-Z, H.O.V.A., Shawn Carter, Mr. Beyoncé, or whatever you refer to him as, has come out in support of gay marriage and in support of Barack Obama's recent "evolution" on the topic. As Gawker and Jezebel both remind us, it's refreshing that Jay can come support the LGBT community given his profession which, as Rich Juzwiak notes, is "a world where 'faggot' is still said as if it's any other word." News of Jay's statement floated around Twitter yesterday, but CNN didn't post the video (below) until much later. "They can choose to love whoever you love--that's their business. It's no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination plain and simple" says Obama's favorite rapper. "I think [Obama's stance on gay marriage] is the right thing to do, so whether it costs him votes or not — again, it's not about votes. It's about people. It's the right thing to do as a human being.
