We realize there's only so much time one can spend in a day watching new trailers, viral video clips, and shaky cell phone footage of people arguing on live television. This is why every day The Atlantic Wire highlights the videos that truly earn your fiveminutes (or less) of attention. Today: Bon Jovi meets Bon Iver, Joan Rivers confirms she and Chelsea Handler are not the dearest of friends, and the killer whales take California.
"Bon Jovi meets Bon Iver" would be an above-average high concept buddy comedy in the 1980s. Today, it's given rise to Bon Joviver, which is perhaps the most logical tribute band in the history of tribute bands. The best part of all is that nobody involved mugs or does anything to sell Jon Bon Jovi or Bon Iver short. And really, why would you? People like Jon Bon Jovi and they like Bon Iver. Logic holds that they'll like them when they're fused together. We did. [Miromosci via Gothamist]
Here's a lovely little video about the oldest piano repair shop in Paris. (Consider it a palate cleanser for what's up next, which is a bit more blue and far less Parisian.) [The Guardian]
Joan Rivers and Chelsea Handler both have shows on the E! Network, but that doesn't mean they have to like each other. Witness: Rivers' appearance on The Howard Stern show today, where she calls Handler "a drunk" who was "an ordinary girl that was [canoodling with] somebody high up in the industry" and got famous as a result. Nobody could say that about somebody their employer was forcing them to like. We're not expecting to see Handler and Rivers palling around at the E! upfronts next year. [HowardTV]
