Andy Rooney, everybody's favorite bushy-eye-browed curmudgeon, is ending his regular appearances on "60 Minutes." TV Newswer broke the news on Tuesday afternoon, and Mark Knoller at The New York Times added via Twitter that "CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager says its become harder for Rooney to do weekly essays, but can return to 60 MINUTES 'when the urge hits him.'"

Rooney, 92, has been with CBS for 62 years and his segment has capped the 60 Minutes broadcast since 1978. TV Newser notes, "Over the years, '60's' resident curmudgeon has been criticized frequently for being out of touch with contemporary culture." However, upon finding this video of Rooney hanging out with Ali G, we'd beg to differ.
