Oasis's Warring Brothers Are Taking Their Tiff to Court

No oasis from sibling rivalry for the Gallagher brothers!

Liam Gallagher is suing his brother Noel because, Liam claims, Noel falsely blamed their band Oasis's cancellation of a concert in 2009 on Liam's hangover. Liam says he wants the world "to know the truth" about the spiked gig, which is that Liam actually had laryngitis. Liam issued a writ at the High Court in London, the Associated Press reports.

Noel quit the band backstage at a Paris festival last year, issuing a statement that read, "With some sadness and great relief... I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer." In January of this year, the sibling war intensified, with Liam telling Uncut magazine, "I've heard his f---ing new record 'cause I f---ing sung on half of it. ... F---ing nonsense... it's all very hush-hush 'round his camp. I put up with 18 years of that f----r so I'm [not] a---d [with] what he's doing." [Full disclosure: Your humble aggregator is unsure of what that last part means. Must be a British thing.]
