FLOTUS Cuts Line at Shake Shack; Schwarzenegger Will Be Back

• Arnold Schwarzenegger’s on-again-off-again big screen is apparently now on again. Per Nikki Finke, the former California governor has reached a deal to star in a “long-in-development Western titled Last Stand, set up as the English-language debut of director Kim-ji-Woon.” Terms weren’t disclosed, but Finke says Schwarzenegger’s deal with Lionsgate is “not nearly as rich as the one CAA made for him in QED International's Cry Macho, which was a $12.5M salary plus 25% first dollar gross back end.” Schwarzenegger pulled out of that project back in May to focus on ‘personal matters,’ which is to say, his separation and divorce from Maria Shriver. • Michelle Obama stopped by the Washington branch of Shake Shack for lunch Monday and “ordered a ShackBurger, fries, chocolate shake and a Diet Coke while the street and sidewalk in front of the usually-packed Shake Shack were closed by security during her visit.” All told the meal contained up to 1,700 calories. Obama, who’s health kick has been well-documented, explained to reporters afterwards, “It’s all about moderation.” [The Washington Post]

• We were a bit worried about the all-hugging, all-high-fiving Moneyball trailer that emerged last month, but co-star Chris Pratt went to bat for the film in a radio interview yesterday. “I’ve seen a cut of it," Pratt told Colin Cowherd. "If you read the book and liked the book you’re going to love the movie. If you’re a baseball fan you’re going to love the movie. And even if you’re not, I think it’s a really great movie...It’s an epic, kind of masterpiece of a movie...They were really authentic to the sport, outside of myself, they cast all pros and ex-farm league guys and college players to play. There are guys hitting 95 miles-per-hour in this movie.” Consider us re-sold. [ESPN Radio]

• More tidbits from Prince William and Kate Middleton's weekend visit to Los Angeles: On Saturday, the royal couple arrived at an event at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet club a half-hour early, prompting secret service to close down the rope line before the rest of the stars arrived. As a result, stars like Rob Lowe and Zoe Saldana had to walk a red carpet that was "eerily devoid of paparazzi." The next day at a brunch at Steve Tisch's house "the newlyweds arrived via helicopter to greet Hollywood heavyweights including [Disney president] Robert Iger and [agent] Bryan Lourd. Dom Perignon sponsored the brunch, but according to a source "some guests were asking for coffee instead of Champagne -- it was 9 in the morning!" [Page Six]

• Long-time TMC host Robert Osborne is taking a three-month leave of absence from the network to “undergo minor surgery, without specifying a particular ailment.” After the surgery, he’ll go on vacation and return when the three months are done. The 79-year-old Osborne didn’t look good during recent appearances on the network, and his voice sounded bronchial. Osborne’s been TMC’s public face since the movie network launched in 1994. • Longtime Los Angeles Times national and foreign correspondent Bob Drogin is making the move to D.C., where he’ll be the paper's deputy bureau chief. [LA Observed]
• Richard Gere was spotted at the Blue Duck Tavern at the Park Hyatt in Washington on Monday afternoon. According to a tipster, he "looked very Buddhist." [The Washington Examiner]
• During debt ceiling negotiations at the White House yesterday, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was heard telling the group that she sent flowers to George W. Bush for his 65th birthday last week. The card apparently read, "'Mr. President, Happy Birthday! Welcome to the Medicare years!’” [The Reliable Source]

• Spike Lee is officially signed up to direct the Oldboy remake, based on Chan-wook Park crime ultraviolent crime film from 2003. [Entertainment Weekly]
