Sure, The Simpsons made the theft of fryer grease seem lighthearted and innocuous. The real thing is desperate and sad. One rendering plant manager says he lost $1 million last year to the "used fryer grease rustlers roaming restaurant alleys" across the country. We prefer the cartoon version.
