Family, yelling, the president--what could be better?
The best part about Larry King's farewell show last night was that it was funny. It didn't have to be this way. CNN could have easily let King reminisce for the entire two hours on what made Dominick Dunne, Mary Kay Letuorneau, Prince Albert of Monaco, Condoleezza Rice, Donny Osmond, Bill Clinton, Lauren Bacall, and the Crocodile Hunter such extraordinary interviews. Instead, the network let Larry be Larry, which is to say, they let him wear bright suspenders, silently quote the movie Gattaca in his head, and yell at close personal friends in front of a national television audience.
