Like much of the Internet, we were captivated by Alex Pareene's "Hack 30" countdown, both because we like lists (obviously) and because it was a very slow news days. Twitter (for the most part) concurred:
Ana Marie Cox and Chris Lehmann saw their prediction go up in smoke...
Current guess for #1 from the Lehmann-Cox car: Krauthammer. #hack30
NYU's Jay Rosen and liberal blogger Duncan "atrios" Black looked into the future...
I have no inside information, but I am certainly rooting for Richard Cohen to be No. 1, @amdreier.
#1 has gotta be richard cohen
@delrayser was pleased to see things play out exactly as anticipated
@anamariecox @TeresaKopec @chrisgeidner @stevebeste @DukeStJournal Richard Cohen #1! Didn't see that coming. #hack30
Even Salon's Glenn Greenwald couldn't find fault with the top choice
Really, can anyone argue with this? RT @joanwalsh "The wait is over! #hack30 No. 1: Richard Cohen http://shar.es/X0DhT "
John Podheretz, upset over not making the list, found comfort in tweeting on his shiny iPad...
I'm bereft that I didn't make Salon's hack list. I mean, to be ignored by Alex Pareene--it hurts. Actually, not so much. Alex who?
...While Pareene was already hard at work on Hack 30: The Director's Cut
@jim_newell number one is YOU. Not you-you but "you," Time Mag style.
