In the biggest upset in a week full of upsets, world favorite Brazil is out of the World Cup. Just moments ago, the Netherlands defeated the five-time World Cup champions to move on to the semi-finals, disrupting the pool brackets of 90 percent of soccer prognosticators. Naturally, Twitter is all abuzz about the upset. Here's the reaction so far...
#BRA is out. Historic win for #NED. Dunga had to win WC with his style or face music back home. Wouldn't want to be in his shoes.
dutch coaches so stylish. love the matching suits. who says brazil has all the fashion? flying orange!
Brazilian whining when they lose makes Duke look sportsmanlike and magnanimous. Yeeeeow, Netherlands! And I didn't know that Adidas made wooden futbol shoes! #NED kept their poise and fine goal by Sneijder but it's a tournament dominated by mistakes. #WorldCup #usa coulda beaten those wily #ned #stillnotoverit It's gonna be a loooooong quadrennium in Brazil. I love Madurodam and public transit and the polder model, but how can anyone root for #NED over bizarro-mestizo-mulatto Brazil? Crazy talk. Apparently Jesus doesn't love Kaka back. #worldcup
