McDonald's has really been upping their game lately after horrifying us (me) with their new Happy mascot earlier this summer. When faced with a Shanghai chicken crisis, they started making tofu nuggets, then started promising 60-second delivery times for their drive-thru orders, and are now testing a new product: mozzarella sticks.

Company spokesperson Terri Hickey told The Wire, "The mozzarella sticks, which come three to a package with marinara sauce, are currently in test in select restaurants in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut." Hickey was unable to tell us all the specific locations, so we just recommend going to every single McDonald's in the tri-state area. We started with the Union Square location in New York City, but they didn't have them. However, the staff there was able to give us four locations in the city that do carry the sticks: 36th Street and 6th Avenue, the Times Square location, 46th and Broadway, and 44th Street and 8th Avenue.

If you're worried about what all that cheesy goodness is going to do for your waistline, here's the nutritional information:

Okay, so, they're unsuitable for vegetarians and about 100 calories a pop. But people already seem to like them. In fact, they are literally thanking the Heavens:

The sticks were briefly tested in United Kingdom and were such a success that some people actually tried to start a movement to bring them back.

McDonald's is unsure when, or even if, the mozzarella dippers will hit other locations. Spokesperson Terri Hickey told The Wire, "It’s premature to speculate on the decisions we may make after the test, but we're excited to share this menu item with our customers in this test market...These tests are designed to determine what works and what doesn’t within our restaurants by considering the operational experience, consumer response, price points and other important information which may inform future decisions."

So what they're saying is eat as many as you can now, because you might not get another chance. If these McMozz sticks aren't enough for you, you can always head on over to TGIFriday's, which is still running their unlimited appetizer special for $10. However you do it, America, I hope you have a weekend full of fried cheese.

Editor's Note: This is not a sponsored post. The staff of The Wire genuinely loves mozzarella sticks and wants to eat a lot of them.
