According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the economy added 227,000 news jobs in February, while private sector payrolls increased by 233,000. Those strong numbers beat expectations analysts had predicted.
Unemployment, meanwhile ended its steady decline and plateaued at 8.3 percent the BLS reported. Depending on which financial journalists you follow, analysts had cautiously expected February's number to be between 209,000 and 213,000, though The Street reported seeing a range from 144,000 - 303,000 jobs. The biggest jobs gain, according to the report, was seen in business services which added 82,000 jobs. It's worth noting, though, that just over half of those (45,000) were temp positions.
