Bidding War Officially Over: Katie Couric Moves to ABC

The anchor will get that Oprah-esque syndicated day time talk show

Well, this was a very long time coming: ABC News has officially issued the glowing press release saying that Katie Couric, the anchor everyone wanted on their network's roster, has signed on to host a syndicated daytime talk show to debut in fall 2012. Basically, it's the Oprah-esque style talk format that would appear to cater to her strengths and has been ceaselessly speculated about for the past several months. She'll also be tasked with ABC News duties, "bringing her many talents to some of the most important and interesting stories of the day." Welcome to the female all-star team, Katie.
