Scaling down the federal deficit is tough. A tax hike is unpopular and same goes for cuts to entitlements. But Stephen Colbert has found a "less drastic and more humane option": one-way trips to space. According to the Journal of Cosmology, not having to return home would reduce costs up to 80 percent.
