Carolyn Bánfalvi is the author of two culinary guidebooks, Food Wine Budapest and The Food and Wine Lover's Guide to Hungary. She has reveled in Hungary's culture since moving there in 1999.
Carolyn Bánfalvi spent much of the past decade investigating Hungarian food and drink. Her research resulted in two culinary guidebooks, Food Wine Budapest—which was a finalist for a 2009 IACP cookbook award—and The Food and Wine Lover's Guide to Hungary. She has a degree in culinary arts and has written for a variety of publications, including Saveur, Gastronomica, gourmet.com, Olive, The Globe and Mail, The Wall Street Journal, Chow.com, and Four Seasons. Originally from Washington D.C., Carolyn lives with her Hungarian husband and their two young daughters in Budapest. Carolyn and her husband lead food tours of Budapest and the Hungary wine country through Taste Hungary, their boutique culinary tour company.
