How to Prevent Your Desk Job From Killing You

By Paul Rosenfeld

Think your desk job is pretty comfy? Well, think again. Turns out every hour you spend in your cushy chair may in fact be reducing your lifespan. Over the past few years, studies have shown that people who spend more than eight hours a day sitting are likely to have “wild swings in metabolism” and an increased chance of heart disease.

The team at animation studio Flikli decided to fight this trend with an animated PSA on the issue. Beginning with a brief history of humanity's sedentary lifestyle, the film illustrates a few ways to be healthier at work. From using office furniture that promotes active sitting and movement to taking breaks to stretch, every effort helps, they say.
