"Every season I have 3,600 to 4,00 pounds of grapes dropped off on my sidewalk!" Matt Baldassano says. Forget home brewed beer -- Baldassano makes his own wine. Crushing grapes in his back yard and bottling the juice in his kitchen, he takes pride in his product but stays humble. "Just a technology dude in NYC making vino in my spare time," his Twitter bio reads. In this short documentary from the series New Yorkers, he describes how he got into the craft. You can learn more about the process and even get involved via his organization, the Village Winery Club.
The New Yorkers series is the brainchild of Moonshot Productions, who have created portraits of interesting locals of all stripes. The producers of the series discuss the ongoing project in an interview with the Atlantic Video channel here.
