There's no objective best when it comes to creative stuff like videos, just interesting, amazing, or personal favorite. And you already know what I like -- I've been doing this all year -- so I decided to mix it up. I asked 10 of my favorite web-video-watchers to share their favorite videos of 2012.

This isn't laziness on my part so much as a way to celebrate the other people out there who spend all day online sifting through the crazy mess of Internet to share the good stuff. It's a tough job but someone's gotta do it, and these folks are awesome at it. Some are curators, like me, including Jason Sondhi and Jordan McGarry at Vimeo. Others are journalists, like Jenna Wortham at The New York Times, Julia Kaganskiy at The Creators Project, and Joanne McNeil at Rhizome. All of them work at the ever-expanding frontiers of Internet culture, like Jason Kottke (Kottke.org), Sarah Penna (a producer and agent for YouTube stars), Robin Sloan (author), Joe Hanson (scientist and science blogger), and Christina Xu, with her various Internet-tastic projects.

All 10 picked great videos:
