Watch a Molotov Cocktail Explode in Super Slow Motion

By Kasia Cieplak-Mayr von Baldegg

The Slow Mo Guys are just a couple dudes who happen to have a Phantom Flex camera, capable of capturing events at 2,500 frames per second. Dumb jokes aside, their videos are pretty spectacular -- they've amassed an audience of millions on YouTube. In their latest, the guys, aka Gavin Free and Daniel Gruchy, smash a Molotov cocktail against a brick wall and slow down the footage x100. Skip to 1:45 for the fireworks, and don't try this at home.

The guys joke that the Molotov cocktail was invented by Dave Molotov (or Frank Molotov, they're not sure) but the phrase dates back to the Russo-Finnish War, mocking Soviet foreign minister Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov, who took the name Molotov from molot, Russian for "hammer." If you like this video, don't miss the Slow Mo Guys' look at the freaky physics of falling Slinkies
