Nelson Boles's Little Boat is an inspiring story of adventure and perseverance starring a surprisingly expressive little dinghy. The short film went viral a while back, charming thousands of viewers and winning prizes at festivals, but it feels particularly relevant while the East Coast braces itself for the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy. The protagonist serenely makes its way through jungles and war zones, getting battered and rebuilt in the process with the help of some exotic animal friends. The deceptively simple animation contains lots of surprises so make sure to watch it full screen with the sound -- half the story is in the audio. If you're hunkered down for the storm, stay dry!
