'Olympic Vermin': A Torch Relay for London's Squirrels, Pigeons, and Rats

This animated short pays tribute to the London 2012 Olympics, with a twist -- recasting the Greek tradition with a scrappy set of urban critters. A discarded cigarette stars as the flame itself. The short is by Amael Isnard and Leo Bridle.

 "It’s hard not to be a bit excited about everything going on in the city, but at the same time we felt detached from the image of London being sent out to the world. The idea of dirty urban animals staging their own ‘trash olympics’ seemed like a great way to show the true spirit of London!" Bridle explains. He sent over a couple behind-the-scenes images of how they shot the pigeon's-eye-view footage, below:
