A vintage travel film from the Prelinger Archive documents the eruptions at Mauna Loa and Kilauea in 1955 and 1959. The last third of the video covers the terrifying erruption of lava through earthquake-induced cracks in the ground in the town of Kapoho in 1960. You can see intrepid volcanic photographer Art Carter in shots at 4:10 and 5:15.
