Beautiful Photos and Time-Lapse Video of Lower Manhattan in Total Darkness

A video captures the eerie atmosphere of New York during the blackout.

NYC Dark combines still photographs and voiceover by Jared Levy and time-lapse videos and music by Michael Marantz to convey the eerie atmosphere of New York during the blackout. Together, Levy and Marantz form the creative team Already Alive. Their long exposures reveal buildings and streets illuminated only by the streaking lights of passing cars -- a truly surreal vision.
