More

"To me, the stories are the most important thing, and the stories have to lend themselves to the medium I'm working in," Taymor explains. From the Aspen Ideas Festival, the award-winning director discusses her upcoming projects and how she approaches storytelling, from Broadway musicals to radical takes on Shakespeare. Taymor has been successful across the spectrum -- her Broadway adaptation of Disney's The Lion King has been the highest-grossing musical of all time and she has directed several films, including Frida, The Tempest, and Across the Universe. For more on her experience adapting The Lion King, see her interview with Michael Eisner at the Aspen Ideas festival
