The Chernobyl Workers Today

Maisie Crow's short documentary, Half-Lives: The Chernobyl Workers Now, tells the story of the community that survived the Chernobyl disaster

Maisie Crow's short documentary, Half-Lives: The Chernobyl Workers Now, for the Virginia Quarterly Review tells the story of the community that survived the Chernobyl disaster.

Workers and their families mourn the loss of their city and loved ones to the effects of radiation, while many people continue to work at the plant. The 15-minute documentary combines still images, video, and moving interviews for an intimate portrait of the community.
