Colin Mika used a variety of tricks to film the sprawling vistas of Los Angeles as if they were inside a tiny snow globe. The video combines time-lapse photography with a tilt-shift effect, and the globe itself is actually a light bulb filled with water. Paper cutouts create the snowflake and heart shapes in the bokeh (background blur). Look out for the fireworks at around 1:00 for a particularly cool use of the effect.
