Jeff Altman, a professional film colorist, revived his grandfather's beautiful 16mm Kodachrome footage and gave it a second life on Vimeo. Here, a classic 1950s Christmas morning gets a modern feel, thanks to the bright, contemporary-looking colors.

Altman tells the story of his grandfather, a Chicago cop who loved 16mm film, in an interview here. Don't miss his films from Las Vegas in 1962 and San Francisco in 1958
