Vanessa Gregory has written for a variety of newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times Magazine, Men's Journal, Afar, National Geographic Traveler, and Outside. Formerly, she was an award-winning reporter for the Bakersfield Californian, a daily newspaper in California’s Central Valley. She holds a master’s in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, and she lives and works in Oxford, Mississippi. She also teaches at the University of Mississippi’s Meek School of Journalism.
