A time-lapse video of Sandy as the storm pummels the city
This is pretty much what time-lapse photography was made for. As Sandy swept toward and then through New York City, a camera on top of 2 Northside Piers was recording the storm's progress. In the video above, the images the camera captured are compiled into a story, speeding and lurching at the same time. It is eery -- particularly when, at exactly one minute in, the lights of Manhattan go out.
