As NASA's Cassini spacecraft sailed around Saturn in 2004, it captured a series of images that have been composed together for this mosaic picture of the planet, the sixth from the sun and the second largest in our solar system. Though the planet appears nearby, the spacecraft was nearly four million miles away when it took the images. The Cassini mission is set to continue collecting data and views of Saturn through 2017, when the planet's northern hemisphere will enter its summer phase.
