Tabulate Allows You to Share Multiple Site URLs All at Once

By Nicholas Jackson

Q: I send a lot of URLs to my friends over email, IM, Twitter and other platforms. Copy/pasting one Web address isn't a problem, but what are you supposed to do when you want to share more than one site? Am I stuck copying one URL at a time?

A: At least a half-dozen times a day, I double-click my browser's address bar, CTRL-C and CTRL-P, sending whatever page on the Web I'm looking at over to a friend or colleague I'm simultaneously talking to on iChat. Every once in a while, I'll copy/paste a URL into an email -- to illustrate a point, to call attention to a particularly strong piece of writing, to promote something from the site you're currently reading.

But what if you want to send more than one URL? What if you have a series of tabs open in your browser that are related and you want to send all of them at once? (Oftentimes, I find myself sending a long list of links to stories about a particular topic I want to do more research on to either my personal or professional inbox; maybe you're in a similar position.) Before Tabulate, the only option you had -- the only option I was aware of, anyway -- was to copy/paste all of those links into a single document. And, while that certainly isn't the biggest of your problems, it does get a little tedious.

Tabulate is an extension to the Chrome browser that can quickly turn all of your open tabs into one short URL that you can send to others or save for yourself. "Simple, fast and with a tiny footprint, it's now easy to share a bunch of links you're looking at, to anyone, anywhere, anytime, using only one link!" according to Tabulate's description in the Chrome Web Store. "Just click the button, wait a second or two and a single link will appear, nice and short and easy to send via Twitter, IM, email or any other platform!"
