I Love This Item So Very Much (Ancient Computing in China)

By James Fallows

Ruan Yifeng, 阮一峰, an economist and IT guy in Shanghai, has used my 1982 article about the dawn of computing to do a thorough retrospective on the computer that was the star of my story, the 1979-vintage Processor Technology Sol-20. Including this touching ad, which I remember piquing my interest back in the day:

Fair notice: his item is in Chinese, but it has so many pictures that the intent will get through to anyone. Also good practice for welcoming in the Sino-dominant era that our Australian cousins say has already arrived.
