10 of the Greatest Science Photographs of All Time

More

In celebration of LIFE magazine's 75th anniversary, LIFE.com has pulled together some of the greatest photographs of science and technology that ever appeared in its pages. "Biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and all of the other physical and life sciences offer a multitude of constantly evolving methods for seeing our universe (and ourselves) in radically new ways -- a pursuit that's often thrilling, sometimes frightening, and never, ever wholly finished," explains LIFE.com's editors in introducing the gallery, which is reproduced in part below with permission.
