Steve Case

Steve Case is the chairman and CEO of Revolution LLC, the co-founder of America Online, and a member of President Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. More

Case co-founded America Online (AOL) in 1985. Under his leadership, AOL became the world’s largest and most valuable Internet company. He later negotiated what remains the largest merger in business history, bringing together AOL and Time Warner, after which he founded Revolution, an investment firm that has backed more than two dozen companies, including LivingSocialZipcarAddThisEveryday Health and FedBid. He is also Chairman of the Case Foundation, which he established with his wife Jean.

Chase was born and raised in Hawaii and retains active ties to his home state, but has lived in the Washington, D.C., area for more than 25 years. He was a leading voice in shaping government policy related to the Internet and, more recently, has been actively involved in a variety of efforts to promote entrepreneurship. Chase is Chairman of the Startup America Partnership, co-chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and chair of the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness' work on entrepreneurship.
