The 2013 G-20 Russia Summit ended Friday, with heads of leading economies meeting to discuss the financial state of the world. The Tonight Show’s Jay Leno commented on the stated goal of the annual summit, joking that the nations are not doing a good job of aiding “global financial security.” He also commented on Obama’s current mental state, saying President Barack Obama was there to seek asylum in St. Petersburg. The show’s producers also put together a video showing that the G20’s courses of action were determined by a giant Wheel of Fortune wheel.
The Syrian situation continues to be a point of interest on late-night TV. The Late Show's David Letterman wondered who, what or where the “red line” is, while Leno previewed Obama’s planned speech this week on the “potential endless quagmire.” Secretary of State John Kerry’s appearance on Capitol Hill was a point of humor for Letterman, who put together two video pieces on Kerry. One suggested Kerry was falling asleep during the hearings, while the other compared Kerry’s “tongue activity” to a pop singer.
Fast forward to 2:30 to see Leno explain the global political and economic system.
