As the 134th edition of the event approaches, a look back.
White House
With Easter approaching on Sunday, it's time for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll (This year's roll will be on Monday; if you don't have a ticket, you're out of luck). The tradition dates back to 1878 and a president whose name is perhaps not necessarily synonymous with lighthearted fun: Rutherford B. Hayes. It has been held ever since, with occasional interruptions for war time and renovations at the executive mansion.
