The Art of the Apology

By Ta-Nehisi Coates
Limbaugh half-apologizes, then proves himself incapable of even the half:

"Talk about a double standard," Limbaugh said. "Rappers can say anything they want about women. It's called art. And they win awards."

This is true. Which explains why president Obama quaked in fear of Luda:

"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn't want his daughters or any children exposed to," campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in an e-mail statement."

And then defended Kanye West:

The young lady seems like a perfectly nice person. She's getting her award. What's he doing up there? He's a jackass.

Come on Mr. President. These guys are just entertainers!
