Wrestling Tickets: The Rawest Kind of Kickback

Lobbyist gift-giving was all but eliminated in Washington, D.C. by the sweeping, Democrat-passed reforms of 2007, but state lawmakers are still plied the old fashioned way. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jake Wagman reports that lobbyists gave two Missouri legislators tickets to a WWE wrestling event. The gifts were legal and disclosed to the state ethics commission:

Two Missouri state representatives, Steve Webb and Scott Dieckhaus, and a St. Louis alderman, April Ford-Griffin, received free tickets to the WWE Raw event at the Scottrade Center [in St. Louis] in March. ...

The March 14 installment of Raw -- one of the WWE's flagship programs -- was broadcast live from St. Louis. The evening included a match with local favorite Randy Orton and a guest appearance by Jersey Shore star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi.
