Conflict between unions and Republicans extends, evidently, to the smallest of details.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker arrived on Capitol Hill today to testify before a House Oversight Committee hearing on state and municipal debt, and unions had promised to make their presence felt when he got there. Above, Ann Louise Tetrault, a nurse from Wisconsin, was asked to leave her seat by a Republican committee staffer before the hearing began.

According to a labor spokesman at the hearing, the seat was reserved for Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin's (D) staff, who said Tetrault could take it. Shumlin was also scheduled to testify at the hearing.

A committee staffer told the nurse the committee had a policy against swapping seats, the labor spokesman said.
