How do liberals feel about President Obama going to speak at the Chamber of Commerce today?
Well, the usual suspects for Chamber-related discontent seem okay with it. The AFL-CIO (which released a joint statement with the Chamber just last month) says it had no problem with Obama's decision to appear there, and the anti-Chamber group Chamber Watch released a statement hitting the Chamber, but not Obama.
But the Agenda Project, a 501(c)4 that works with progressive organizations to coordinate messaging, was more critical.
The group released this video, which mostly hits the Chamber but seems to criticize Obama's decision to speak there more directly:
"Go talk to whoever you want to, but let's not have a lot of illusions about who you're going to talk to," said founder Erica Payne. "Obama went to meet with lobbyists for the biggest 45 corporations in the country, all of whom are opposed to very basic reforms, environmentalism, all of it."
"Let's just not lie about it," Payne said.
