Univision Won't Run 'Don't Vote' Ads in Nevada

Univision, the Spanish-language TV station, says it will not run a Nevada TV ad telling Latinos not to vote. The Wall Street Journal reports:

Univision will not be running any spots from Latinos for Reform related to voting," a Univision spokesperson said. "Univision prides itself on promoting civic engagement and our extensive national campaigns encourage Hispanics to vote."

The ad caused a stir online yesterday and today. Created by the pro-immigration-reform group Latinos for Reform, it warned Latinos that Democrats had repeatedly betrayed them by breaking promises to enact comprehensive immigration reform. The only solution, the narrator concludes: "No votes," or, in English, "Don't vote."
