That's what I have often feared. Here's an exception. Austan Goolsbee, new head of the Council of Economic Advisers, with a visual aid to explain the difference between the Republican and Democratic proposals for extending the Bush-era tax cuts:

One way to look at it: what has taken so long? Another way: at least they're starting now. UPDATE: I see that the Atlantic's Derek Thompson has a somewhat different view of this presentation. I still think that as explanation, this is a big step forward.
