One of several weird aspects of being at Rand Paul's controversial victory-night celebration at a Bowling Green country club is that the sound system was blaring Rush (the Canadian prog rock band, not Limbaugh). Hearing Geddy Lee's arachnid screech struck me as somehow hilarious, and after consultations with a few other reporters present, we agreed the song was "The Spirit of Radio." Commenters on my Twittersteam (@joshuagreen) helpfully informed me that members of Rush were big libertarians, especially righteous drumming god Neil Peart, and also that the album 2112 was an homage to Ayn Rand.
Well, maybe they're not such big libertarians after all, or maybe they just don't like Rand Paul. Because their lawyer has just send Paul a cease-and-desist letter, claiming that he's stealing their intellectual property. Ouch!
