Organizing for America Phone Banking for Specter in Pennsylvania

By Chris Good

President Obama is backing Sen. Arlen Specter in his primary against Democratic challenger Rep. Joe Sestak, and, evidently, Organizing for America is phone-banking for him too. AMERICAblog's Joe Sudbay notices this OfA phone bank for Specter being held Saturday through Tuesday (the day of the primary) in Philadelphia.

Here's what the OfA event page says about Specter's race:
For years, Arlen Specter has delivered for the people of Pennsylvania, and now we can deliver for him, help us get out the vote for Senator Spector by singing up for a shift in the most crucial days before the primary.

President Obama wants Senator Specter to continue working on his behalf, can you sign up to volunteer today?

Footage of President Obama, meanwhile, appears in a TV ad for Specter's primary reelection campaign. There was speculation that either Obama or VP Joe Biden would campaign for Specter in person, so it's not that unusual that Obama's network of political supporters would be called on to support the incumbent.
