Boehner: No Republicans Will Vote for Health Care Bill

When the House voted on health care in November, one Republican, Louisiana Rep. Joseph Cao, supported it. If the House passes health care reform a second time, House Minority Leader John Boehner says, it will be without any support from Republicans.

"I am confident of that because yesterday they made it clear that the Stupak language...will not be part of their package," Boehner said this morning on MSNBC. "As a result, Joe Cao from Louisiana, the only Republican that did vote 'yes' is likely to vote 'no.'"

The bill passed by the House in November was a far more ambitious package than what's being considered now. (It included the public option, for instance.) Apparently the Senate's less-ambitious bill doesn't change the voting calculus for the GOP.
