Billboard: Certify Franken

By Chris Good

A coalition of labor unions and progressive groups has put up a billboard along I-94 between Minneapolis and St. Paul calling on Gov. Tim Pawlenty to certify Al Franken as a U.S. senator. Photo below:

The group responsible for this looming reminder of the unresolved Senate race includes Americans United for Change, AFSCME, Alliance for a Better Minnesota, and the Minnesota affiliates of AFL-CIO and SEIU. Americans United for Change has a history of attention-grabbing message strategy (see its construction of a bus devoted to President Bush's legacy), but the group says this is its first billboard. It has previously run TV ads with the same message to Pawlenty.

Sen. Norm Coleman (R) is appealing Al Franken's election victory in the Minnesota Supreme Court.
