makes the case. The one thing I would say is that it seems weird to me to ignore distributive issues when writing about this issue, especially from the
pro side of the universal health care debate. Given that the United States is substantially richer than France and has a substantially less egalitarian distribution of wealth and income than does France, it would be shocking to me if you couldn't find
some Americans who have better health care than do most French people.
