Claire McCaskill Shuts That Whole Senate Thing Down

NBC is reporting that it is apparently a bad idea to insult rape victims in general, and women in particular while running for office. I wanted to bracket this space off because there's going to be a lot of talk tomorrow about race tomorrow. But it needs to be said that the GOP's retrograde positions on gender, and general ignorance of human biology, has evidently cost them a shot at the Senate.

McCaskill was the most vulnerable Democrat in the Senate. Dick Lugar's seat was safe. And the GOP blew them both. No serious party can continue this way. But Lindsey Graham aside, I suspect this Republican Party will.
