On Tuesday night, Atlantic illustrator Alex Hoyt tracked the election results as they streamed in, producing a series of gorgeous images we've now turned into an animated GIF. Watch as the states turn color in the order that they were called. The pivotal moment, when Obama hit 277 electoral votes to Romney's 201, comes about 10 seconds in.
